救命女性に土俵下りる指示 一連の対応に波紋も
大相撲の春巡業が４日、京都・舞鶴文化公園体育館で行われ、あいさつをしていた多々見良三舞鶴市長（６７）が土俵の上で倒れた。
スタッフや観客らが心臓マッサージなどを施したが、その中に含まれた女性に対して土俵から下りるようアナウンスがあった。
場内アナウンス担当の若手行司が、周囲の観客にあおられて慌てて口走ってしまったという。
市長は命に別条はないが、精密検査を受けるために舞鶴市内の病院に入院した。
編集後記
舞鶴の一件は日本国内はもちろん、海外メディアでも大きく報じられています。
「女人禁制」とする伝統を「時代遅れ」で「差別的」とみるかどうか、意見が分かれているところが興味深く、これはディスカッションに適したトピックだなあ、と感じました。
ただし、救命処置よりも伝統が優先、というのはやはり行き過ぎですね。
市長が一命をとりとめた、と聞いてほっとしました。
