編集後記
年明けからPCソフトの不調に悩まされています。ある時点からWindowsのアップデートに失敗し、作業に必要なシステム（Service Pack1)をインストールできなくなったのでDellサポートセンターに電話で相談しました。
OSの再インストールをしないと解決しないという結論になり、どうにか実行してアップデートは成功したものの、メールアカウントの情報が一部保存されておらず、元通りの環境に戻すのに四苦八苦です。
まあ、これは自己責任だから仕方ないものの、Dellのサポート担当者の対応にはちょっと驚きました。
いつも日本語の堪能な中国人の方が丁寧に説明してくれるのですが、先日、最後に「他に何か質問はありませんか」と聞かれて疑問点を尋ねたところ、どうも日本語が通じなかったのか、相手が突然「おっしゃる言葉の意味がわかりませんですね！」キレてしまったからです。
Microsoftのサイトにずらりと掲載されているService Pack1のうち、どれを選んでダウンロードすればいいのか見分ける方法を尋ねただけなんですが・・・。
なぜ意味が通じなかったのかはいまだに謎です。しかもサポート料金を支払っているのに担当者が不機嫌になったのは理解しがたいです。
頭にきたので会社に文句を言いたかったのですが、そもそもDellには苦情処理の窓口が存在しないということが判明・・・。（その体制にもあきれます。）
今後、Dellのサポートセンターに電話するのは気が重くなりました。ただ、マシンは値ごろで気に入っているので、次回もたぶんDell製を購入するでしょうね^^;
